Each November I construct a calendar to commemorate some of the paintings I made that year. This year’s paintings had me experiencing the surreal times we are all living (#pandemic). Captivated by the light and the peaceful quietness of daily surroundings, I sought out beauty that is attainable in the everyday.
My 2020 artwork had me looking differently at my favorite topic – #whatisart? I came across the following quote “[to] show the real in the light of the ideal and so transfigure it.” This seemed to express what I quite naturally felt inspired to do.
